Decorate Superhero Boxes for Local Foster Children with LexFUN! (Registration Required)

Saturday, March 41:30—4:30 PMLarge Meeting RoomCary Memorial Library1874 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA, 02420

LexFUN! and the Children’s Room at Cary Library invite you to spend an afternoon with us getting crafty and making a difference in the lives of kids.

Children in foster care often must navigate challenges well beyond their years and miss out on playful opportunities to just be a kid. Together We Rise, a national foster care support organization, has created a Superhero Box Program with a goal of helping children in foster care feel S.U.P.E.R. (Self-assured, Uplifted, Proud, Empowered & Resilient).

LexFUN! has sponsored 30 Superhero Boxes and with the Children’s Room at Cary Library, we invite you and your kids (of any age!) to join us in the Large Meeting Room on Saturday, March 4th from 1:30-4:30pm. With fabric markers, stickers, and more, we will decorate pillow cases, capes, masks and power cuffs to help our local foster youth feel like the heroes they are. Completed boxes will be donated to the Department of Children and Families in Arlington for distribution to local children.

Registration required for a 1 hr time slot (1:30 - 2:30, 2:30 - 3:30, or 3:30 -4:30-) on the LexFUN event page.
