Let's Make Onigiri (Grades 6 and up)

Thursday, November 34:30—5:30 PMVirtual

Come and learn about and make Onigiri, Japanese rice balls! You will receive a special "Onigiri Action Kit" with ingredient and materials needed to make several types of Japanese rice balls. The class will include information about Japanese food, culture, nutrition as well as a cook-along. You will also learn about "Onigiri Action", a unique campaign to make a difference by using Onigiri.

This program is presented by the non-profit Table for Two through their program "Wa-Shokuiku: Learn. Cook. Eat Japanese!" as part of their OnigiriAction campaign to address food insecurity. A prepackaged ingredient kit including sesame seeds, rice, seaweed, tuna, and mayonnaise will be provided.

Registration required. In order to allow the most kids to participate, please only register once for your family to receive 1 supply kit and have all chefs in your household cook together. A few days after registration, you'll receive an email with detailed instructions on how to pick up your ingredient supply kit.

If your child becomes unable to attend this program, please notify the library as soon as possible. Repeated 'no-shows' without notification may prohibit your child from registering for future programs

This program was made possible thanks to a grant from the Cary Library Foundation
