VIRTUAL - LexSeeHer Speaker Series Celebrates 2022 Banner Honorees

Wednesday, October 1912:00—1:00 PMVirtual

Join the special LexSeeHer Speaker Series to meet some of the 2022 Women’s Visibility Banner Honorees. Each of this year’s winners were selected from community nominations and appear in the Banners designed by Lexington Girl Scouts. Each banner recognizes a woman whose exceptional skills and spirit have helped improve Lexington. In October, we will recognize two of our  2022 Women’s Visibility Banner Living Legends: Kathy Fields and Binita Dang.

We'll talk shop & community service with Kathy Fields. Learn more about Kathy’s ongoing service to Lexington in Town Meeting, through the Lexington Retailers Association, and her outstanding leadership as the owner of the iconic store The Crafty Yankee from 1994 - 2020. Kathy’s shop was described as “a retail tourist attraction where visitors return year after year. It is a classic New England gift shop that one could only experience in this region of the country, as the myriad of unique gifts have a clear New England flair.” Kathy’s the special someone who wove artisans, employees, and customers together, providing meaningful gifts and souvenirs to residents and tourists alike.

Binita Dang's role in establishing and maintaining Sounds of India has contributed generously to the lives of residents in the Lexington community and beyond. The Sounds of India radio program began as an initiative to serve the Indian community in the greater Boston area. Across decades, Binita wove listeners, guests, and her family together. Listeners could rely on Sounds of India to learn about upcoming social and cultural events and performances, bringing people together to celebrate arts, traditions, and more.
