Join us for a special IN PERSON visit with author Mitali Perkins! Come learn about her picture book  Home Is In Between (currently featured as our Storywalk at Lincoln Park), find out about having her novel Rickshaw Girl adapted into film, and what's coming out next!

Mitali will do a book signing following her talk.  Limited books will be available for purchase from Maxima at the event itself.  Guarantee a copy of the title you'd like, and help our local bookstore by pre-ordering your book(s) and Maxima will have it ready for you at the event.  Pre-orders must be received by Monday, April 11th.

Mitali Perkins has written many books for young readers. She has been nominated for a National Book Award (for You Bring the Distance Near), honored as a "Most Engaging Author" by independent booksellers, selected as a Literary Light for Children" by the Associates of the Boston Public Library, and was invited to serve as a judge for the National Book Award and the Kirkus Prize. Her novel Rickshaw Girl was recently adapted to film. Mitali was born in Kolkata, India before immigrating to the United States. She has lived in Bangladesh, India, England, Thailand, Mexico, Cameroon, and Ghana, studied at Stanford and U.C. Berkeley, and currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
