Today’s children and teens are growing up in a radically different world—one where mental health concerns have surged alongside the rise of smartphones, social media, and 24/7 digital life and where the rise of A.I. threatens to undermine independent thought and executive functioning. This eye-opening presentation explores the data behind rising rates of emotional distress in youth and the powerful role that technology, online culture, and societal change play in shaping their emotional well-being.

Blending neuroscience, developmental psychology, and real-world insight, Joseph Moldover and Michael Delman will examine how shifts in parenting, education, and play have collided with unregulated tech to undermine emotional health and executive functioning —and what we can do about it.

About our speakers:

Joseph Moldover, Psy.D., ABPP/cn is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist with private practices in Wellesley, MA and Biddeford, ME. He is a member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology and the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology and is past-president of the Massachusetts Neuropsychological Society. He specializes in assessment and consultation for children, adolescents, and young adults presenting with a range of learning and developmental challenges. He is the author of “The Empowered Parent” and of the young adult novels “Every Moment After” and “Just Until.”

Michael Delman is the CEO and Founder of Beyond BookSmart, WorkSmart Coaching, and BrainTracks. He is a former public school teacher and principal and founded The Christa McAuliffe School in Framingham, MA. Michael is the recipient of the Anti-Defamation League’s “Teacher Incentive Award” and the State of Massachusetts’ “Distinguished Educator” award. He has been featured on Good Morning America and at education conferences nationwide and is the author of “Your Kid’s Gonna Be Okay.”
