Exercise is an important part of the recovery process when one has experienced a stroke. This talk will focus on what the research says about why exercise is important and what kinds of exercise are beneficial to improve one's day to day function.
The talk will be given by Sarah Bell and Kelly Hussey, who have been outpatient physical therapists at MGH for over 15 years, now working as senior PTs at MGH-West in Waltham. They both obtained their certification in Neurologic Physical Therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) in 2015. The patient population they work with includes people with stroke and other acquired brain injuries, as well as those with any neurologic or balance-related conditions.
Registration is required.
Presented in collaboration with Lexington Human Services, MGH-West, and Supportive Living, Inc., a non-profit organization helping people with neurological disorders.
