OFFSITE - Rangoli Workshop for Adults

Wednesday, October 156:30—8:00 PMOffsite Location

**Offsite location** This event takes place at the Munroe Center for the Arts, 1403 Massachusetts Ave, Lexington

Join us to create your own Rangoli designs using wooden templates, sand and glue under the guidance of our host, Ashwini Chitnavis.

Rangoli is a traditional Indian art form in which intricate patterns and designs are created on the ground using materials like colored powders, rice, sand, or flower petals. Typically made during festivals and special occasions, Rangoli is believed to bring good luck and positivity. The rangoli designs patterns reflect cultural heritage and artistic creativity. Bright colors like red, blue, yellow, green, and white are commonly used freehand, showcasing the artist’s imagination. Rangoli uses not just decorative but also a symbol of hospitality, welcoming guests and deities into homes, and is supposed to be meaningful to others.

Registration required.

Presented in partnership with the Indian Americans of Lexington and the Munroe Center for the Arts.
