Join us for an evening with author Christopher C. Gorham for a presentation on his book, The Confidante: The Untold Story of the Woman Who Helped Win WWII and Shape Modern America. The Confidante is  the first-ever biography of Anna Rosenberg, who rose from modest immigrant beginnings to become one of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's key wartime advisors. From her position behind-the-scenes, Rosenberg helped shape the GI Bill, and wartime civil rights. She guarded the secrecy of the Manhattan Project and was sent to wartime Europe as FDR's personal emissary. Her second act was as remarkable as her first: in 1950 she was nominated to be the Assistant Secretary of Defense, but she had to ward off a smear campaign from Senator Joe McCarthy to once again serve the country she loved. Christopher C. Gorham holds degrees from the University of Michigan, Tufts University and Syracuse University College of Law. After practicing law for over a decade, for the last several years he has taught Modern American History at Westford Academy, outside Boston. His writing has appeared in the Washington Post, Literary Hub, Paper Brigade Daily, and online publications. The Confidante is his first book.
