Did you know that birds are modern day dinosaurs? Birds have the feathers to prove it. Yes, dinosaurs and birds are the only animals that have ever possessed feathers. During his presentation, Bill Gette will discuss the amazing structure and utility of feathers. He will show illustrations of feathers and explain their various parts. Did you know that birds possess up to eight different types of feathers? Bill will provide illustrations for each of these feather types and explain their functions. Bill will also discuss feather coloration and how coloration aids in attracting a mate and providing protective coloration.
