VIRTUAL - iPhone Photography Tips & Tricks Series

Wednesday, January 87:30—9:00 PMVirtual

In this class, you’ll learn the basics of using your iPhone camera as well as many “hidden” features that you may not be aware of. We’ll also cover some basic photo organizing and editing techniques using the built-in iPhone tools. You will be given picture-taking, organizing, and editing challenges to practice your new skills. The first half of the second two sessions will be devoted to reviewing participant's work and addressing issues that came up while working on the challenges. If you sign up for this class, please be prepared to attend the second and third sessions live, as the class depends on interactive discussion of each students' work.

Register once to attend all three sessions.

Session 1 (January 8) - In the first session, we'll focus on the fundamentals of using the iPhone camera including suggestions for the best settings to use to get the highest quality results. We'll also cover some composition techniques and other tips for producing outstanding photographs. At the end of the session, you will be given an assignment to turn in prior to the second session.

Session 2 (January 15) - We'll start session 2 with a tutorial on how to effectively analyze your own images in order to figure out the most effective way to edit the images. We'll then review all the images from the first assignment and review techniques from the first session. Each student should be prepared to talk about the assignment and describe issues or challenges that came up. We'll look at the best way to edit your images and then will end with instruction on how to organize the photo collection on your phone. You will be given a second assignment to turn in prior to session three.

Session 3 (January 22) - In this final session, we'll jump right into a photo review of the second assignment, focusing on what worked well in the images and any issues that came up while doing the assignment. Like the second session, the image review is interactive and depends on student participation. New content will include a number of more advanced iPhone photography features as well as some additional editing techniques.
