Virtual: Kids Cooking Green Presents Plum Torte with Sugar and Cinnamon (Entering Grades K - 2)

Some of the best fruit trees to grow in Massachusetts are apples, pears, peaches, and plums. Lets make a Plum Torte and show off some local flavor!

We'll provide all the ingredients you need, you'll need to provide the following items from your kitchen:

  • (2) medium bowls (1 for Butter & Sugar & 1 for dry ingredients)
  • 1 long handled spoon and a fork to cream butter.
  • Small bowl to crack eggs into before adding to butter and sugar. 
  • Baking dish-8 x 4 or you can use a loaf pan or pie dish, or cake pan. 
  • Cutting board and knife to half the plums and lemon.
  • Oven Mitt

An adult caregiver must be present to supervise. Ingredient supply packages will be available for pick up from Kids Cooking Green on DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON, or by other arrangement with Kids Cooking Green. Any kits not picked up by 5 pm will forfeit their space in the class.

Registration required. In order to allow the most kids to participate, please only register once for your family to receive 1 supply kit and have all chefs in your household cook together. A few days after registration, you'll receive an email with detailed instructions on how to pick up your ingredient supply kit.

 If your child becomes unable to attend this program, please notify the library as soon as possible. Repeated 'no-shows' without notification may prohibit your child from registering for future programs
