Join a 60-minute webinar offered by the MBTA Mobility Center and the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV). Our speakers will focus on how to find and access transportation services in the Greater Boston neighborhoods.

Presenters:
Linda Shepard Salzer is the Travel Trainer for The MBTA Mobility Center. She has served as a Travel Trainer in the Boston area for ten years. She has worked with older adults and persons with disabilities in many capacities throughout her career. Linda is English/Spanish bilingual and likes to come up with creative, low-tech teaching tools.

Michele Ellicks is the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles. Michele's expertise is in older driver safety and traffic safety. Her presentation focuses on how advancing age impacts driving and discusses mobility options in Massachusetts. She talks about how individuals can prepare for driver retirement and what mobility looks like post-driving. She discusses how the Registry of Motor Vehicles has a robust community outreach program, offering several free workshops including “Shifting Gears – Preparing for Driving Retirement.” She also discusses RMV policies and procedures and discusses how the RMV can swap out an active, unexpired driver's license for a free I.D card to individuals who surrender their active driver's license for medical reasons. Portions of Michele’s “Shifting Gears” workshop have been featured in the Boston Globe and the Patriot Ledger, and on WCVB’s Chronicle. RMV Community Outreach workshops received the PACE and the Regional Community Service Award for outstanding public information from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA).
